Dare Ogunbowale
Dare Ogunbowale Will have normal role Week 15
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 5:52 PM
Ogunbowale is expected to be a depth option Sunday, as Woody Marks, who opened the week with a knee injury, carries no injury designation ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the Cardinals.
Analysis: The week started with both Marks and Nick Chubb (ribs) as non-participants in Wednesday's practice, opening a window slightly for Ogunbowale. Since then, Marks logged a limited practice Thursday and was a full participant Friday. Chubb sat out Thursday and got on the field Friday for a limited session, which included stretching on the side and working with the training staff. Ogunbowale could steal snaps from Chubb, but it looks like Marks should be a workhorse against Arizona.
Woody Marks
Woody Marks Cleared to face Arizona
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 3:58 PM
Marks (knee) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals after practicing fully Friday.
Analysis: Marks went from a 'DNP' on Wednesday to a limited session Thursday before working fully Friday, which paves the way for him to continue to lead the Texans backfield this weekend. Meanwhile, fellow RB Nick Chubb (ribs, LP) is questionable to face Arizona, and if he's limited or out this weekend, Dare Ogunbowale, British Brooks and Cody Schrader would be candidates to handle added backfield snaps. With Chubb (who last logged double-digit carries Week 9) capped to just eight snaps in the Texans' Week 14 win over the Chiefs, Marks recorded a season-high 26 carries for 68 yards and added two receptions (on three targets) for eight yards and a receiving score.
Nick Chubb
Nick Chubb Officially listed as questionable
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 3:34 PM
Chubb (ribs) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Chubb missed back-to-back practices to begin Week 15 prep, but he returned as a limited participant Friday. If Chubb is able to gain clearance in time for Sunday's matchup, he'll stand to handle the No. 2 backfield role behind Woody Marks. If Chubb is unable to face Arizona, however, Dare Ogunbowale will figure to inherit an increased workload behind Marks.
Dare Ogunbowale
Dare Ogunbowale Possible lead role dims
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 7:02 AM
Ogunbowale's chances of being Houston's lead back dimmed Thursday, when Woody Marks (knee) was a limited participant.
Analysis: While Marks is trending in the right direction, Nick Chubb (ribs) is not. The latter was a DNP for a second straight day Thursday. If those trends continue heading into Sunday, then Ogunbowale could still be in line for increased volume on offense as the top backup to Marks.
C.J. Stroud
C.J. Stroud Looks to respond better
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 5:57 AM
Stroud acknowledge his poise faltered against Kansas City's aggressive defense in the second half of Sunday's win over the Chiefs, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports. "I think that's something I can get better at, just being calm in the chaos," Stroud said. "Pressure, guys flying at your feet, hitting you after the whistle or whatever the case may be. I just want to be able to put my team in better positions."
Analysis: Lost among Houston's fifth straight victory and dominating defensive effort was the offense's second-half struggles to move the ball. After leaping to a 10-0 lead at halftime, the Texans totaled 67 yards (2.0 yards per play) in the final 30 minutes with four consecutive three-and-outs as the Chiefs dialed up blitz after blitz. Houston's defense set up a couple of short fields in the fourth quarter, which produced the final 10 points and secured the win. Stroud's performance against the pressure is somewhat surprising, given his 60.3 percent completion percentage against pressure heading into the game was the best of his career and better than most quarterbacks this season. In Week 15, Stroud faces the Cardinals, who rank 12th in blitzing (25.1 percent) but only 27th in pressures (18.3 percent) and sacks (24) through 13 games.
Woody Marks
Woody Marks Limited in practice Thursday
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 4:10 PM
Marks (knee) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
Analysis: Marks and fellow RB Nick Chubb (ribs) both logged 'DNPs' on Wednesday. Chubb also missed Thursday's session, which clouds his availability for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, while Marks' limited practice has him trending in the right direction for the contest. In any case, Friday's final injury report will reveal whether Chubb has a chance to play this weekend, as well Marks' official Week 15 game status.
Nick Chubb
Nick Chubb Absent again Thursday
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 12:26 PM
Chubb (ribs) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Chubb has missed Houston's first two Week 15 practices after exiting the team's Week 14 win over Kansas City due to a rib injury. Woody Marks (knee) returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday and will likely continue to work as the lead back Sunday against Arizona, while Dare Ogunbowale could move up to the change-of-pace role usually occupied by Chubb if the veteran running back is ultimately sidelined Sunday. Chubb will likely need to practice in some capacity Friday to avoid being ruled out on Friday's injury report.
Woody Marks
Woody Marks Back at practice
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 12:24 PM
Marks (knee) participated in practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Marks logged a 'DNP' on Wednesday, but the running back's presence at practice a day later has him trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Meanwhile, fellow RB Nick Chubb (ribs) remained sidelined Thursday, with the Texans' upcoming injury report set to reveal Marks' official participation level.
Dare Ogunbowale
Dare Ogunbowale Awaits word on injured teammates
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 7:30 AM
Ogunbowale could be Houston's lead back Week 15 as both Woody Marks (knee) and Nick Chubb (ribs) were non participants at Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: During Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City, when Chubb was ruled out early and Marks was forced off the field for one play, Ogunbowale made the most of his one snap, rushing for a five-yard touchdown. He could receive a greater volume of snaps this week against Arizona pending the health situation of the injured backs. Ogunbowale has never been a big factor as a runner; he has just four carries in 13 games this season and never had more than 42 in any of his four seasons with the Texans.
Nick Chubb
Nick Chubb Not practicing
Wed, Dec 10, 2025, 1:29 PM
Chubb (ribs) didn't practice Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Wilson notes that Chubb is the only Texan absent from Wednesday's practice who actually seems in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Cardinals. The group include fellow running back Woody Marks, who briefly left Sunday's win over the Chiefs with an ankle injury but then quickly returned and took a series of carries without incident. Dare Ogunbowale filled in and scored a TD during Marks' temporary absence.
Woody Marks
Woody Marks Not practicing Wednesday
Wed, Dec 10, 2025, 1:15 PM
Marks missed Wednesday's practice due to an knee injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Marks and Nick Chubb (ankle) both are absent after suffering injuries during Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chiefs. Chubb left the game in the first half and didn't come back, while Marks returned after missing just a couple of plays (one of which was a five-yard TD run by Dare Ogunbowale). While largely used as a passing-down specialist throughout this pro career, Ogunbowale could temporarily take over as Houston's lead runner if Marks and Chubb aren't ready for Sunday's matchup with Arizona. On the other hand, a return to practice Thursday/Friday would put Marks on track for the lead role again, this time in a favorable matchup with the ice-cold Cardinals defense.
Justin Watson
Justin Watson Returns to practice Wednesday
Wed, Dec 10, 2025, 1:04 PM
Watson (calf) had his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday.
Analysis: Watson has been on injured reserve since getting injured in Week 2, but Wednesday's development marks a key step in his recovery process, as Watson will rejoin his teammates at practice. The Texans will have 21 days to add Watson back to the active roster from IR. Such a move could come prior to Sunday's game against the Cardinals, though Houston may ease Watson back in at practice first given his extensive layoff.
Harrison Bryant
Harrison Bryant Designated for return from IR
Wed, Dec 10, 2025, 12:59 PM
Bryant (neck/shoulder) had his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday.
Analysis: Bryant remains on injured reserve, where he was placed Nov. 15, but he can rejoin his teammates at practice. The Texans have 21 days to add Bryant back to the active roster, and such a move could occur prior to Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Bryant's participation level in practice will provide insight on how close he is to returning to game action.
British Brooks
British Brooks Contained to special teams
Wed, Dec 10, 2025, 11:15 AM
Brooks played all 19 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: Brooks has been active for each of Houston's last 10 games, but he's been deployed almost exclusively on special teams in those contests. The reserve running back has played just five total snaps on offense across the Texans' last four games.
Cody Schrader
Cody Schrader Staying in AFC South with Houston
Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 8:01 PM
The Texans claimed Schrader from the Jaguars off waivers Monday.
Analysis: Schrader was waived by the Jaguars on Saturday after appearing in just one regular-season game for Jacksonville. He'll stay in the AFC South as a member of the Texans, and he gives Houston added depth out of the backfield in case Nick Chubb is sidelined due to a rib injury he picked up against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Brevin Jordan
Brevin Jordan Signs contract extension
Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 7:22 PM
Jordan (knee) and the Texans agreed on a one-year contract extension Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jordan has been sidelined for the entirety of the regular season after suffering a significant knee injury at practice in August, but he will now stick around Houston for another year. The tight end caught 17 passes for a career-high 219 yards while scoring two touchdowns in his last healthy campaign in 2023, and he'll look to get back on track in 2026.
Xavier Hutchinson
Xavier Hutchinson Targeted twice in win
Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 9:08 AM
Hutchinson did not catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City in Week 14.
Analysis: Hutchinson was held to zero catches for the third time in the last five games. He had some moments earlier in the season, but Houston's passing attack now runs through Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz and rookie Jayden Higgins. Hutchinson has 26 receptions on 41 targets for 303 yards and three touchdowns, all of which are career highs for the third-year veteran.
Cade Stover
Cade Stover Used again as runner
Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 9:03 AM
Stover was not targeted in Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City in Week 14.
Analysis: Stover's did get a carry on a 4th-and-1 in the red zone, but the play was wiped out by an offside penalty. Houston settled for a field goal instead. It was the fourth time in the last two games that the Texans used Stover as a runner, but unless he gets used at the goal line, that usage won't provide him with any fantasy appeal.
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel Garners three touches in win
Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 8:58 AM
Noel caught both of his targets for 12 yards and had one carry for one yard in Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City in Week 14. He also returned one punt for 21 yards.
Analysis: Noel's three touches and 25 snaps were the rookie's most since Week 10. It's noteworthy that he had the same number of offensive snaps as veteran Christian Kirk. Per usual, Noel was a bigger factor on special teams, and his 21-yard punt return in the first quarter dug Houston out of a potential hole and led to the team's first score, a Ka'imi Fairbairn field goal.
Christian Kirk
Christian Kirk Logs one catch in win
Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 8:36 AM
Kirk caught one of three targets for six yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City in Week 14.
Analysis: Kirk was limited to six or fewer yards for the fourth time in the last five games. Brought in to be a No. 2 wideout, the eight-year veteran has fallen behind rookie Jayden Higgins in terms of playing time and targets. He also had the same number of snaps (25) on Sunday as Houston's other rookie wideout, Jaylin Noel.
